Elyse McCurdy Home Designs (EMHD) is an independent architectural design firm located just outside of Ottawa, Ontario, specializing in custom homes and large-scale renovations. My focus is on creating thoughtful, functional, and beautiful spaces that reflect the unique needs and lifestyles of the people who live in them.

My passion for home design began at a young age, sketching houses at the kitchen table. That early interest in architecture led me to OCAD University—Canada’s largest and most comprehensive art and design institution—where I earned a Bachelor of Design in Environmental Design, with a focus on architecture and residential design. Today, with over a decade of experience in the industry and a Building Code Identification Number (BCIN), I bring both creative vision and technical knowledge to every project.

As a wife and mother, I understand the importance of designing homes that are not only beautiful, but also highly functional—spaces that genuinely support everyday family life. I work closely with clients throughout the design process, ensuring each project is personal, collaborative, and considered. Keeping my practice intentionally small allows me to prioritize strong client relationships and focus on the details that make each home unique.
